'Suit up, Show up, Sit up, Shut up' is what we used to tell newcomers. We used to say this for darn good reason. Drunk drunks and newly clean addicts shouldn't be running at the mouth about recovery when they don't understand recovery. nobody ever told me that but i do know that when i was finished with drinking/using i listened more rather than opening my mouth at every opportunity.
I think there is something so valuable about this advice - that you never hear anymore. I heard it plenty when I was new and I am grateful.
