IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

03.09.08

You can know just what to do, and have every ability and resource with which to do it. And yet you also must be willing, or it will never happen.

Today I am grateful...
  • that the cause of my getting in late last night wasn't some debauchery or having been to sordid places or having drunk myself under some table. It was from late night dinner and fellowship with fellow recoverers and artists.
  • that Bunny held it until I got home
  • that today I can feel that I am having some uncomfortableness of spirit, know it won't last forever and be able to find some action to edge it out
  • that at this moment I cannot find a resentment in my mind
  • that willingness is the principle behind Step 6

Willingness comes from knowing why, on a deep and undeniable level. Willingness comes from making a solid, consistent and persistent connection to your most meaningful purposes. Willingness comes from understanding that every action has consequences, as does every failure to act. Your most authentic and abiding desires are faithfully expressed by what you are willing to do.

Seek to remember, perhaps for the first time in a long time, who you are and why you are here. And find the willingness to bring your own unique purpose to life. -- Ralph Marston

I'm glad that I was brought to a point where willingness was not even a consideration; it was just a fact.
Unwittingly, I had already taken the first step when I walked in my first meeting. Steps two & three came more quickly than I expected because of willingness.
Bunny sets a good example by being willing to hold on until you get home.

i got a resentment you can borrow. it's so big, there is plenty to loan out :)

un-comfortableness of spirit comes with the territory of living authentically wouldn't you say? not that i welcome it with open arms or anything....
