IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Religion cannot stand Spirituality. It cannot abide it. For Spirituality may bring you to a different conclusion than a particular religion--and this no known religion can tolerate.
Religion encourages you to explore the thoughts of others and accept them as your own. Spirituality invites you to toss away the thoughts of others and come up with your own.

Today I am grateful...
  • that I can go to the dentist today and not worry about the cost
  • that I have almost all my income tax information collected
  • for what can be done as a sober member of AA
  • for guides from sources all over
  • that my Higher Power hand picked a version of today for me
Hope is an anchor for the soul; firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19.
Hope is a big part of everyone’s life. Hope points us to the future. It gives us something to look forward to. It inspires us. When we combine it with our faith we can happily wait for what we are hoping for to happen - even as we get older. Hope is one of God’s principle graces. It goes right along with faith and love. These are the three principles that the Bible says will last forever – faith, hope, and love. ~Yahoo! topic: What is Hope?

"God hand-picked a version of today for you".

On the way to work today I was thinking about how unique every single life is; how no one else is driving down this road in this particular spot, having been where I've been and going where I'm going. It was a moment of realization of the unimaginable magnitude of God's scope and power and love.

I'd love to have the "Hope" diamond
But I will gladly settle for the Hope that sobriety has given me. The Hope Diamond can be crushed, but the kind of hope I have, cannot.

And hope is probably at the root of getting through life. If we don't have that, then what's the point? I don't know whether there is a heaven or whether there is life after death. But I can hope that there is.
