IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Be careful what you place in front of sobriety, for it is the first thing you will lose. ~anonymous
Today I am grateful...
  • that yesterday I got to take a very pregnant friend (she is having the baby in 5 days) to see my show and for the chat we had about creativity and walking through creative fears
  • for the three commissions I have received as the result of my show
  • that a while back when I voice my fear regarding finding employment, Bob S told me he had never seen the program of AA drop anyone. That was a turning point for me. Thanks, Bob.
  • that the Continuous Moment exists and will always exist
  • for the feeling of a smile creeping into existence
  • for the quiet and peace lying beneath everything

So our troubles, we think, are basically of our own making. They arise out of ourselves, and the alcoholic is an extreme example of self-will run riot, though he usually doesn't think so. Above everything, we alcoholics must be rid of this selfishness. We must, or it kills us! ~Alcoholics Anonymous, p.62

Thanks for writing that anonymous quote. After I heard it, I told myself not to forget it.
I had been trying to remember it since.

I keep looking for the selfishness off button but can't find it.

So many buttons.

Love you

Scott, I hope N loved your show as much as I did. I just visited Sobriety Society for the first time this AM. I noticed that MICKY
dropped by and left you a message. He really left me a long spew of vile talk on sobriety and AA. It came at a time I was very vulnerable and just totally shut me down. But I did not drink. You know my motto is YOU DON'T DRINK NO MATTER WHAT. Oh, I'm back to blogging. F#%K MICKY.

It makes me feel a little more normal this morning reading your blog....it's such a part of my routine. I'm tired of being sick, and long for normal ;)
Well, normal may be out reach for me.

Smile, Scott!
I heard somewhere that that if you smile really hard each morning and hold it for several seconds, it releases something in the brain that soothes us and makes us feel happy. So look at Bunny and grin real hard. Even if it doesn't make you feel better, it will startle the dog.
