A miracle is not to be understood but experienced. So much in life we will never understand and there is growth in confusion. We are not perfect. We will never be perfect. The mystery of life is exactly that --- a mystery. ~Fr Leo
Today I am grateful...
- for the new topic on Sobriety Society
- that late last night I watched some of Intervention on A&E and it gave me the most uncomfortable feeling, watching a woman so completely drunk she could not move without falling and she had that look that could only seem to focus about a foot in front of her face. She said why get sober, no one cared. I tried to remember what I found in that effect to be so enticing, why I once just wanted to blot out any feeling. To remember being that intoxicated. It really shook me down to my bones.
- that I slept a bit better last night. The cough that has accompanied my laryngitis is lessening, although I was up from 1:30 - 2:30 before I was able to return to Morpheus.
- that the program of AA has taught me to take care of myself in many ways
- for prayers for those that are trying to make it back
Live and let live is the rule. If you both show a willingness to remedy your own defects, there will be little need to criticize each other. ~Pg. 118, To Wives

If there is growth in confusion, I am well on my way to becoming a giant.
I'm glad to hear that you are feeling a little better. My neighbor has been sick for over a week with some nasty crud. I'm sure it hasn't stopped her from drinking her daily beers. Think how much faster you are healing since your body only has one poison to battle these days!
I love that quote you began with. I need to print it out and put it on my mirror and my dashboard!
Dear Scott,
thank you for the reminder of how I drank too. I used to watch Intervention all the time when I had cable.
It will scare one straight.
Glad you are getting better physically.
Love you
I get uncomfortable seeing people really drunk. It's almost a PTSD for me. I have to inventory the situation and realize that the fear I feel around alcoholism isn't something that I need to have control me. Remembering Step One helps.
I am also very uncomfortable watching people who are very drunk. Too many issues!
i have much love for you!
