IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

12.27.07

I need the A.A. principles for the development of the buried life within me, that good life, which I had misplaced, but which I found again in this fellowship. This life within me is developing slowly but surely, with many set-backs, many mistakes, many failures, but still developing. As long as I stick close to A.A., my life will go on developing, and I cannot yet know what it will be, but I know that it will be good. That's all I want to know. It will be good. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Today I am grateful...
  • that I am up early (but not as early as Mary Christine) so I can report to the clinic to have blood drawn for lab work
  • that last night the house was cool and the bed was warm and the sleeping was glorious
  • that Pam made it back from Christmas vacation
  • that Neosporin and band-aids will soon have my thumb back to normal. I have one of those weird hang nail infections and it's right where I hit the space bar when typing.
  • that if you are the praying kind that you will take a moment to say a small prayer for my friend M who is back out there. Thank you.
You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses. ~Tom Wilson

I like the quote.
Stay awake from the space bar.

I just got over one of those neosporin needing hangnails. I just typed without hitting the space bar.

Scott, I have been a long time reader of your blog (2 yrs or so) and yet have never taken the time to comment. I'm like that, it takes me a very long time to get up the nerve to post any type of comment on someone's blog. Shyness, perhaps? I don't know.

First thing, I want to congratulate you on your show. You are truly a talented artist and if I was in your area I certainly would have attended to support you, no doubt!

Secondly, in addition to being a talented artist, you are both an inspirational and gifted writer. No matter what kind of day you are having you always seem to turn it around to see the positive and I very much admire that. Thank you!

And finally, what has kept me coming back to this post in particular is this: "if you are the praying kind that you will take a moment to say a small prayer for my friend M who is back out there" . I am a praying person and have been praying daily for M. I am 99.9% sure that M is how I found your blog in the first place and if so, well...I'd rather not go into it here but if you would be so kind to email me I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I understand. You don't know me, owe me nothing, but just know that I care a great deal for M and I am very worried about him and will continue to keep him in my prayers. I do, however, want to thank you for the update here on this post as it has been a few months since I have heard from him and I have been worried. Thank you and take care of yourself.
