I must live in the world and yet live apart with God. I can go forth from my secret times of communion with God to the work of the world. To get the spiritual strength I need, my inner life must be lived apart from the world. I must wear the world as a loose garment. Nothing in the world should seriously upset me, as long as my inner life is lived with God. All successful living arises from this inner life. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Today I am grateful...

• that patience in the creative process is rewarded
• the my doctor yesterday said all looked perfect--I go back on New Year's Eve
• to be one link, in the long chain of recovery
• that I will strive for an open mind and an open heart today
• that my Higher Power has no interest in kicking your Higher Power's ass
• that I can wish you a Happy Tuesday!

My spiritual awakening was electrically sudden and absolutely convincing. At once I became a part--if only a tiny part--of a cosmos that was ruled by justice and love in the person of God.
