There is a crack in everyone--that is where the light comes in. ~Leonard Cohen

Today I am grateful...
  • that the vertigo has subsided substantially and I am back to driving. I am still moving slower than usual, and that is okay. They tell me I can smell the roses easier that way. What I will strive to remember is when I am behind a slow poke that I was once in that position, and if I am lucky to live long enough I will be a slow poke driver in the future.
  • that yesterday, with the packing still in my ear, I heard sounds I have not heard before
  • that I got back to meetings yesterday after a six day absense--the longest I have gone without a meeting since I got sober
  • for the soft sounds of the tumbling clothes in the dryer behind me
  • that conscious contact keeps the veil of illusion fairly thin
  • for the new topic on Sobriety Society

Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope. ~Alcoholics Anonymous

One of life's greatest rewards is not what we get, but what we become. ~Daily Inspiration

Hi, you dont know me of course, found your blog by chance, and I was struck by the similarities of the feelings you've written and what I have experienced myself. Your blog is tender, with a tough exterior, and insight that shows wisdom from experience. I too am an artist, well I call myself that, I'm a wanna be. I've had no formal training and I desire SO much to learn what I can. I'm a single mom, so my time is limited. Tell me how did you get started, what gives you your inspiration, what are your favoite mediums? You can visit my blog and comment back if you wish, I have a picture of one of my paintings there, toward the bottom, my Bluebird. But I'm interested in doing abstract. I myself have struggled with "issues" addiction of sorts, and I tend to draw from that for my creativity. Though lately I havent been very creative. I'm intersted in picking your brain, inspire me so to speak! www.rachelsritings.blogspot.com or www.myspace.com/raenky..hope to hear from you

Bunny's probably thinking "Sheesh, I thought that guy would never leave the house to I could update my blog."

Hi there! I happen to see your blog and was wondering if I may use your header graphics and use it on mine. I happen to be a newbie in web design and still learning this with lots of ambitions to prosper. Sorry I did not read much of your blog just looking at the design around so I saw your header. I am just greatful that I can contact people thru this marvelous tool of the internet. Would be awesome to hear from you. Thanks, DesignEstation Admin

I like reading from your blog. It's dark, surreal and has good amount of humor.

Hi Scott:

I was glad to see that you too find comfort in the little things. I find comfort in the glow of a dim lamp and sunlight streaming through the window. Take a look at my blog for more ideas; howtobemorehappy.blogspot.com

I find your quotes deep and thoughtful. Keep it coming!

Hi,

Your blog is inspiring and well done. That is my next project... to learn how to blog well.
I grew up in a house with an alcoholic and I admire your courage! It is not easy I am sure but the journey will be worth the outcome!
