IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Accepting yourself is everything. If you accept yourself, you can accept the world. ~David Viscott
To give a friend the benefit of the doubt, to listen with depth and compassion and non-judgment, to be loyal in an age when loyalty is so easily relinquished — these are opportunities to use friendship as a means of righteous participation in life. ~Mariane Williamson
Today I am grateful...
  • that I actually slept without getting up for five straight hours (I have just been able to sleep an hour or two at a time)
  • that although I thought maybe I felt like getting out of the house and going to the 9:30 meeting, I am just dizzy enough to have to stay put
  • that by staying put I know I am walking through what I need to walk through to get well
  • that I got to wish my friend David S a happy birthday this morning
  • that I get to do some service work for Bill by scanning some old photos for him (and I got a nifty, unusual Christmas CD, a speaker CD and a Target gift card)
  • for this true experience of patience
Destroying pride -- man becomes endearing;
Destroying anger -- man gets rid of sorrow;
Destroying desire -- man acquires peace;
Destroying greed -- man achieves happiness.
~Satya Sai Baba

Scott, you truly is a wise ol' boiled owl.

We ran across the phrase "boiled owl" in one of our book studies this week, and decided it would be a good group name if we start an early Saturday meeting.

I especially like the quotation from Satya Sai Baba. Thanks!

I'm not liking that you are still feeling dizzy, not that you shouldn't but I just don't like it.
Five hours of sleep is probably exactly what you needed.
