IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Our faith should control the whole of our life. We alcoholics were living a divided life. We had to find a way to make it whole. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Today I am grateful...
  • that I heard something mechanical whilst in the bathroom this morning. I knew the air conditioner wasn't on, although it is warm enough for it to be. Then afterwards I figured out it was the clothes dryer. I have never been able to hear the dryer from inside the bathroom--my hearing is changing!
  • for the power of prayer to change my thoughts, cultivate faith and harvest trust
  • that yesterday I got my list with eleven items on it finished before the noon meeting
  • to have heard Jess' story yesterday, hear the gratitude he has at being sober for four years plus and facing jail time. Just goes to show you how we experience our lives through our thoughts.
  • to be a part of the greatest fellowship in the world
  • that I love it when I do spellcheck and there are no misspellings

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. ~Edith Wharton

To clergymen, doctors, friends, and families, the alcoholic who means well and tries hard is a heartbreaking riddle. To most A.A.'s, he is not. There are too many of us who have been just like him, and have found the riddle's answer. This answer has to do with the quality of faith rather than its quantity. This has been our blind spot. The love of God and man we understood not at all. Therefore we remained self-deceived, and so incapable of receiving enough grace to restore us to sanity. ~12 & 12, p. 32

I am SO thrilled about your hearing. Every time you tell me something new you can hear I just get chills. Alas, I wish Joe's would improve.

The newly enhanced hearing is such a blessing. I am very glad you are experiencing that. Try putting things with metal snaps and buttons in the dryer when you want a walk on the wild side.

Eye two think spellcheck is handy, butt as lawn as its a reel word eye kin bee miss taken sum thyme.

I hope you did not hear me whisper about you today. I can't imagine you ever misspelling anything.

Can I be a mirror to your light for a little while?

I'm so glad your hearing's getting better. I'd like to meet up with you sometime during this weekend/holiday. Are you going to the lunch on Tuesday? Or the Sunday morning meeting? Let me know. Much love to you, my friend.
