Today I am grateful...
- for the chilly, dark and damp weather we have had this weekend
- that I went to Round Up for the banquet and keynote speaker. She was Starsky from Dallas and she misued grammar in the most fascinating way. I love it when it's raw and gritty. I got to sit between Bob and Daave. During the sobriety countdown, Bob rose when they asked for those with 30-35 years to stand. Dave and I got to stand side by side when they called out 4 years. Do you know how good it made me feel to be sitting there? Enough to make me tear up...constantly! In the room there were people with sobriety from 49 years to less than one day. Dang! I love that dinner/speaker event. Four years ago I was standing when they got to 11 days and I thought my heart would literally burst through my chest.
- for the short sobriety films of Sharon F. Last night's was titled 'The Committee'. She makes me cry every time.
- that if you are in recovery you have felt what I have felt. In this I am referring to the joyous, elated times. I don't know why this was such a revelation for me early on in sobriety. The only reason I could come up with is that I have been so self-centered all my life. One thing this did for me is to be able to accept you more than ever
Gratitude, also known as: Acceptance - Acknowledgment - Appreciation - Approval - Benediction - Christ Consciousness - Compassion - Counting your Blessings - Grace - Gratefulness - Happiness - Honoring - Kindness - Love - Namaste - Optimism - Passion - Positive Perception - Positive Thinking - Praise - Recognition - Respect - Reversing "stinkin thinking" - Enjoying "Here & Now" - Receptive to All That Is - Joyfulness - Thankfulness - Thanksgiving - Finding The Silver Lining - Expecting Miracles - Savoring Life - My Cup Overflows. Can you add to the list?

Hi I only found you today. You are a 'Blog of Note'.
I have a lot of catching up to do but so far, it's brilliant. I will be learning lessons with you regularly!
Your list is perfect, Scott...
And your art work rocks, as usual!
Peace.
Dear Scott,
What a wonderful reaction to the dinner, speaker and "sober countdown."
You are experiencing that joy and elation that RoundUps produce.
It will be a wonderful week hearing from all who participated !
I love you and your post this morning.
And, you new painting. Wonderful as usual !
Love you
"Other-centeredness"
is a word I would like to add.
Because I can identify with what you write and I can feel your joy and pain and that is a miracle.
Thanks.
I accidentally came across your blog today. Thank you. My spouse is in recovery and I am as well (al-anon). This is something I need to look at every day.
i'm one of those who wandered into your blog since its inclusion as a Blog of Note. it's a breath of fresh air here in cyberspace and the blogosphere where bits and bytes can be used up by nonsense stuff...
God bless you as you journey on to a better life.
Oh- I also equate gratitude to contentment =]
how about spit in the fire and call the dogs home happy
I still cry in a sobriety countdown...don't know why exactly.
I think your list (+ suggestions from others) is fairly complete. I could hurt myself if I try to think up more words. My brain is very tender, and I must be careful not to sprain it. I am, however, grateful for the scraps of cognitive matter that remain.
I Do agree with you but i wiped my mud whole with mine. i do hope your next work agree with my mud whole more.........beter init.
Ah...yes. It is a 'Thankful' time of year. But, is that all that really matters?
Just 'Thankfulness'?
No...I think there is more to it.
Great blog, it deserves it's spot under Blogs of Note.

I sooo love being in the presence of my clean and sober fellows...
Your blog is definitely one that is great to note...I'm glad I stopped by. I'm encouraged by your thankfulness one step at a time. May I add a Bible verse to your list of "Thankfulness". I grow immensely from the words of scripture, here's one to note....
"Oh give thanks to the Lord. Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the peoples!"
I believe thats just what you're doing with your blog...making know the great deeds of God thru your life!
One moment at a time....
Hello Scott... u r perfect narator
i am a new blogger and getting things right for me by inhancing my skills but i like to appericiate your work. You talked about time yes it is only factor which pass by you and still you cannot stop it. One can only remember it and all are memories which come back when you go to places where you have spent most of your time previously. All these memories can make you smile as well as cry. I have also cried many time due to these memories which come automatically and no power can stop it.
Peace, Enjoy, Entertainment, Sorrow, Anger.. all are covered in your blog..
Please go to my blog and let me know how can i improve mine..

Hi Scott, I'm so happy to have found your blog. Your attitude to gratitude reminded me of a sort of game I made every night before sleeping: I think about five beautiful things which happened during the day and for which I feel grateful. It's a great way to realize that our life is so rich and full of grace and good. I'd like to share this thought with all my friends, but sometimes it seems to me they're afraid of being happy. So, thanks a lot for your blog and for your words.
Cheers
Federica
I am drinking from my saucer for my cup it overflows.
An image I never fail to enjoy.
I love the art on this post -- yours, I'm assuming?
Just found this blog among favorites on the blogger.com page, and really appreciate your being here.
A terrific synthesis of the best of meetings. I've been sober many a year now, and what you have to say here is, as we say, just what I need to hear. THANK YOU.
very touching, i know the feeling in which you speak of to stand in a room with so much sobriety, instead of a funeral.
i love this sentence, "and she misused grammar in the most fascinating way." i adore this too.
