Someone once said that it's bad to suppress laughter; it goes back down and spreads to your hips! So, keep laughing, everyone! --unknown
After a nice night's sleep I do not miss the old days of lying in bed, passing the hours away awake, because so much alcohol kept me from sleeping.
It was fun to take the painting to Dan for him to photograph. Then we manipulated the image and added the area at the bottom, with my name and the show title.
I made it to the noon meeting where the topic was the 11th Step and Pause When Agitated. It always does me good to hear chatter about pausing, because sometimes I just can't make that agitation go away. How some days I can drive all over the place and be perfectly at peace, compared to others when just pulling out of the driveway pisses me off. I have a fickle mind that has been warped by self-centerdness and years of abusing alcohol. It's healing, slowly.
I went to Texas Art Supply to spend some of my gift certificate I received for my birthday. Don't you know I could take home that whole store and be happy!
So had a nice birthday and that makes my heart happy because she deserves it for being the bestest sister. We have a no maintenance relationship and have no secrets. How I love her!
I painted some last night after having dinner with J and R and watching Dexter and playing with the kittens.
I love to laugh. I love good music. I love sobriety.
Always know that what other people think of you is their own concern, not yours. Do what you know is right, and fully accept that others will think what they will think. Certainly it is valuable to make a good impression. Keep in mind, though, that the best way to make a good impression is not to worry endlessly about what others think. The way to make the best impression is to be authentic. Allow the goodness that is within you to shine through your genuine courtesy, kindness, respect and consideration. By caring so much about receiving validation from others, you prevent yourself from getting it. Instead, share your real value with those around you and that value will be clear for all to see. Don't waste your time and effort keeping up appearances. Put your attention and energy into real solid substance, and your appearance will take care of itself. The more you strive to make a good impression, the less successful you'll be at doing so. Just relax and be yourself, and you'll be truly and authentically impressive. ~Ralph Marston

I love you so much So she says while wiping a tear from her eye!
So
You might have a difficult time packing all of Texas Art Supply into your smart Montrose studio, but I'd love to watch you try.
What a fabulous job on the poster (?) or what I assume will be the advertisement. Are you having a hard time deciding what you will show? Are you showing all the TWINS? If you could just become REAL famous, then it would finally give me a "name" to drop at parties. That would make me happy. Don't you want me to be happy????
Happy Thanksgiving Scott! Gobble gobble:)
That photo looks fabulous!
real nice...especially the last lines....
Scott,
I just found your website, whoa!!!!
Congats on your years of being sober. Love the poster but I will be honest with you I am not sure what the painting is about, can I ask you to explain it to me. I love art and my house is full of Hudson River paintings and marine paintings from the late 1800. In recent years I have become interested in more modern art. When and where is your Gallery opening in 2008. I will be in Dallas in January. Thanks for what you wrote.
i gots goosie bumps from reading this here post! LOVE THAT PAINTING with your "stamp" on it! (i'm still trying to find a layout that will allow me to display art in the manner it should be displayed.)
