IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Life is fragile - Handle with prayer. ~unknown origin
Today I am grateful...
  • for my alarm clock that woke me so I can get to my pre-op appointment with the ENT
  • for my extended chat with Bill last night, until his computer or ISP gave out
  • that my self pity has decreased dramatically over these few years
  • that November, the eleventh month, is the month of gratitude and how appropriate that I got sober during this month
  • for conscious effort to practice these principles in all my affairs today
  • that I have the program to keep my trickster mind from reeking havoc on my thoughts
  • that my Higher Power is an open source and I can take from it as much as I can hold
You must be prepared to make some unpopular decisions when you live by principle. You will not be able to please everyone. Be firm with others as you chose the principle and not the personality; be firm with your personality as it butts heads with your principles. ~Pocket Sponsor
In praising their success with AA, people sometimes overlook the importance of maintenance. AA not only helps us achieve sobriety, but it can also help us maintain our sobriety for a lifetime. ~Keep It Simple

Oh I too have a trickster mind. It tells me that Tim will call one of us soon, just to chit chat.

Just proves that sobriety is possible. It also proves that sobriety can be serene.

Love everything for which you are grateful.

Self pity is supposed to disappear if we work the steps honestly.

Progress, not perfection, at least at this end.

I stumbled upon your blog looking for quotes on gratitude to put on mine. I've been cultivating an attitude of gratitude for myself and have found it to be life transforming. Your blog is an inspiration. Thank-you!
