Even when it hurts like hell, hold fast. The pain is the arrow coming out, not the arrow going in. Faith is not about trusting a God who will rescue you from arrows but trusting in the process. Faith will center you, not rescue you. ~Pocket Sponsor
Today I am grateful...
- that Jim knows how to grill steak better than anyone on the planet
- for Gregorian's The Sounds of Silence
- for the 12 Promises
- for the power of quiet time
- for the relief when I realized in early sobriety that the WE of the program of AA meant that I no longer had to do life by myself
- for the developed faith from steps 3 and 11
We found many in A.A. who once thought, as we did, that humility was another name for weakness. They helped us to get down to right size. By their example they showed us that humility and intellect could be compatible, provided we placed humility first. When we began to do that, we received the gift of faith, a faith which works. This faith is for you, too. ~As Bill Sees It

I love my quiet time, too. I used to bomabard myself with the stereo or television all the time. Now I enjoy the quiet moments, which let me hear the birds sing.
I hope that some day I will learn to be teachable.
great first quote about the arrow! i can really relate. i'm going to have some quiet time today, too. hope you enjoy yours.
Faith is a wonderful gift.
please send Jim to my house.
I'm grateful that you are on this planet with me, on the other side of a computer monitor.
