IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

If it smells like a duck, looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ... Chances are it's a duck. ~Unknown
Today I am grateful...
  • for a free day yesterday. I worked all or parts of every day over the weekend and it was nice to do what I wanted, topped off with a toasted BBQ pork sandwich with Starnes BBQ sauce (Starnes is my favorite BBQ place from my home town).
  • that I get to keep what I have received if my spiritual condition is fit
  • that I can throw a fit if I want to, but I would be better served by keeping quiet--usually
  • for loved ones, acquaintances and passers-by
  • for the delete comment forever feature which I used today after Sobriety Society got bombarded with comments from a crazy person

If it smells like a duck, looks like a duck, walks like a duck and talks like a duck ... it's probably an alcoholic. ~Unknown origin ( Probably Duck. )

...[W]e learn to recognize the things that may upset us emotionally. When we find ourselves getting upset over something, we must realize that it's a luxury we alcoholics can't afford. Anything that makes us forget our number-one problem is dangerous to us. ~Twenty Four Hours a Day

Even the continuous sobriety we're enjoying is no shield from traps we seem to set for ourselves. At times, we can find ourselves in the foolish game of continuing to fight battles we've won or lost. One losing battle is the attempt to win the approval of someone who has always disliked us. That person may be gone, but we still fight....and lose..... the same battle when we find ourselves in a similar situation. We also may have won some battles without knowing it. This can happen when we've set our goals unrealistically high. ~Walk In Dry Places

So I had to drop by Sobriety Society to check it out. I like the last comment, by micky.

Am I wrong or is Micky a gay basher? I haven't seen him post before and his writings, allbeit I didn't read a lot of them, tend to go along not approving of gays. Place to correct me if I am wrong.

how funny...you should read the stuff he wrote on Syds blog. He likes reptiles or something. I think he may be a duck...he is quacking...and trying to stir up a stink...I don't know how he walks.
I had me some great barbque for lunch today! But it was beef, not duck.
I'm glad I don't care about Mickys approval. I've never been that fond of reptiles or ducks.

Dear Scott,

what a wonderful post today. It was worth waiting for !!!

It seems we all got comments from "micky." What a drip.

It seems to me he is an "AA Basher."

That happens whem some folks aren't able to be "rigorously honest" with themselves and can't make it in the program. He claims to be a religious person but, that kind of hockey isn't what my Religion professes.

I hope I will not hear from him again.

Get it, micky? Save your "postage" and perverse banter.

Love you Scott.

Sometimes we forget the real irrational fear and hatred lurking at the heart of homophobia. Interesting it should be linked to sideways AA-bashing too!

Love & non-reptilian hugs Scott
