IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

It's not the load that breaks you down...it's the way you carry it. ~unknown
Today I am grateful...
  • for the huge break from all the oppressive heat
  • that I didn't get trapped in my car yesterday while driving to Lambda from the Medical Center
  • that yesterday as I sat waiting to see the oral surgeon I read from Conversations with God. I can open it to any page, read and it is like the first time I ever read it. It speaks a truth that rings true in my heart and mind and brings me joy and comfort. I was able to go from there and see the world for its joy and mystery. The rain topped it all off with its show of force and beauty.
  • that I got the appointment for my wisdom teeth removal, but I have to change it because it follows too closely my ear surgery. I just can't see lying there with my mouth open for hours only two weeks after having my ear almost cut off and hinged forward so they can clean it out, repair the ear drum and replace the hearing bones that have been destroyed. Nope, don't see that happening until a bit later.
  • that I have never shared in a meeting that "I came because (the leader) is eye candy." LOL Seriously!
  • that I opened a personal art gallery on MyArtSpace but the site is down. I will repost when it is back up and running.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. ~Hebrews 11:1
Truth connects us to life while fear, isolation, and dishonesty alienate us from it. As using addicts, we hid as much of the truth about ourselves from as much of the world as we possibly could. Our fear kept us from opening ourselves up to those around us, providing protection against what others might do if we appeared vulnerable. But our fear also kept us from connecting with our world. We lived like alien beings on our own planet, always alone and getting lonelier by the minute. ~NA Just for Today

Dear Scott,

I'm so sorry that you face 2 surgeries.

Put me on the list of people who are available to do anything before, during and after to help out. Anything.

Love you

"I came because (the leader) is eye candy."

Did someone really share that at a meeting? How insensitive!

Yes, Trinker.

I say whatever gets a person to a meeting is good enough for me. I used to show up to see the men... and I have been told they used to show up to see me.... and we stayed sober.

And please take it one surgery at a time. The ear one sounds like it will take some recovery time.

What a great quote! Good luck with the surgeries.
