Silence is the element in which great things fashion themselves. ~Thomas Carlyle
Today I am grateful...
  • to wake up to another day. I am in discomfort this morning, my shoulder feels like it is either suffering from bursitis or I have a nerve know under my shoulder blade.
  • that I was able to wake early so I can make my CT scan appointment (unrelated to my shoulder)
  • for the joy of the tiny Virgil asleep on my lap last night while we watched television
  • that the God of my understanding entered the conscious part of my being
  • for the promises of AA and that all have manifest in some form in my life
Look back and be grateful, look ahead and be hopeful, look around and be helpful. ~unknown
One of the hardest parts of recovery is the concept of letting go of what is old and familiar, but what we don't want, and being willing to stand with our hands empty while we wait for God to fill them. ~Marianne Williamson
