IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

The great artist is the simplifier. ~Henri Amiel
When self-indulgence is less than ruinous, we have a milder word for it. We call it "taking our comfort." ~12 & 12, p. 67
Today I am grateful...
  • that I was able to be with myself long enough yesterday at the clinic to get through the feelings of wanting to leave and come back tomorrow. I had to wear one of those paper masks and with it covering my nose my breath made my face hot and made me feel like I was gonna pass out (it was hot in there) and no place to sit for 30 minutes aggravated the whole thing. But after I got through those feelings I was able to sit there for a long time.
  • for daily commitments to stay strong in the love of my HP and in the program of AA
  • that life led me to Houston, here I have found my home
  • for Lambda, my home away from home

It may even be that sincerity, like sobriety, has to be sought on a daily basis. Perhaps we are capable of being sincere today, and then lapse into insincerity tomorrow. To accept this is a sign of prudence and maturity, and perhaps even a measure of humility. ~Walk In Dry Places

I am also glad that you found your home in Houston. I hate that I don't get to see you more often, but we keep in touch daily so that is ok. I am just happy that you are happy. I am so proud of you I just can't say it enough.

Love,

So

YOU live in Houston? Wow!
So do I.
We should try to get together for coffee sometime. What side of town do you live?
I'm in AA. Are you? I'm an alcoholic and have alcoholism. The "ism" stands for "incredibly short memory."

Dear Scott,

What a great entry on the first day of August.

I'm glad you were able to settle yourself down in light of all the things going against it. Just shows how very serene you are and how you chose to do what was good for you.

I like the only two choices - worry or faith.
Love you
