IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

at the doctor's

This morning I went to the triage unit of the Casa de Amigos Clinic because I needed my developing bronchitis seen about. It's the only way to see the doctor without an appointment and it usually takes about four hours. Today it took five. That's okay, it's the insurance I have at the moment and I am grateful to have it. She gave me a prescription for prednisone and an inhaler. And by the way, thanks for your concerns, but I am really feeling normal physically. I just know this bronchitis is back and in its infancy, having an occasional dry cough and wheezing. Unlike last winter when I had that severe case, this has been treated with heavy duty meds from the beginning and I should be okay in no time.

Anyway, I was reading "On This Journey We Call Our Life" by James Hollis and wanted to share this:

None of us can achieve wholeness, as such, for that is an imperative larger than our finite capacity. Jung believed that Jesus, the Christ for the West, and Gautama, the Buddha for the East, served as cultural imagos for the ideal of wholeness. But our wholeness is not achieved by imitating them. They traveled their journey; our own is different. Whenever we take steps to respond to the Self, whenever the ego can surrender to the Self and serve its larger perspective, we are moving toward wholeness. If the gods, or the Self, have so ordained, who then are we to flee? We are often intimidated by fear, of course, but it may be a much more fearful thing not to have been who we were meant to be than to face the fears that stand in our way.
