IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

How to translate a right mental conviction into a right emotional result, and so into easy, happy and good living, is the problem of life itself. ~Bill W.
Today I am grateful...
  • for a beautiful 11th step meeting with my sponsor
  • that I got to meet Virgil, Randall's new kitten. Pictures forthcoming.
  • that we are going to see Tuna Does Vegas in Galveston at the Grand 1894 Opera House
  • that Pam shares stuff with me
  • that sometimes when I listen to a favorite song I wonder why I like it or love it so much. Then I wonder if I will like it my next time around. Then I wonder if I have ever seen a painted portrait of me from another life time. Then I wonder as I wander...
Sometimes, standing up for our rights will mean going against the crowd. It will mean turning down that drink when everyone else has one. It will mean telling your honest opinion when it's different from the others think. Being sober will mean, at times being different. Lots of times, we find being different hard. We want to fit in. This is normal. But we don't stand alone. We have friends who will stand with us during hard times. We have a Higher Power who will guide and comfort us. We are people with rights. Let's work hard so nothing takes away our rights. ~Keep It Simple

that Opera House in Galveston... I used to play in the Galveston Symphony whenI lived and went to school at UH. That opera House is soo awesome. I wish I would not have been such a waste-oid back then, that I might have been able to truly enjoy the experience of playing there on a spiritual level.
