IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Most of us have tried everything we can think of, exerted every ounce of force possible, to fill the spiritual hole inside us. Nothing - not drugs, not control and management, not sex, money, property, power, or prestige - has filled it. We are powerless; our lives are unmanageable, at least by ourselves alone. Our denial will not change that fact. ~NA Basic Text
Today I am grateful...
  • I went to bed last night with Donna Summer's version of MacArthur Park in my head. I also woke up with in and am now listening to the video off YouTube. You know, it took a long time to bake it!
  • that a topic related to what Pam discussed this morning appeared in today's DailyOm (see quote below)
  • for every event in my life that has led me to where I am today
  • to have discovered Byron's blog All My Affairs
  • that I have been made willing

We all know the feeling of being repeatedly haunted by the same issue, no matter how we try to ignore it, avoid it, or run away from it. Sometimes it seems that we can get rid of something we don't want by simply pushing it away. Most of the time, the more we push away, the more we get pushed back. There are laws of physics and metaphysics that explain this phenomenon, which is often summed up in this pithy phrase: That which you resist persists. ~DailyOm

Dear Scott,
"what you resist persists."
All I know is that if I don't resist, it persists too.

looks out the window at the rain falling on his cake...

THere was a great reading on July 23rd in the Daily Reflections about how God removes our defects of character in His order, in His way and in His time... similar to that which we resist, persists... We attract that which we think about most!

I turned my alarm off this morning and went back to sleep. I awoke to my husbands alarm play YMCA....that go me right out of the bed in time to lift my arms up and the "A" on the second go round.
Now that was FUN.
After 2 months of dieting, I'll eat a cake in a sand storm..I don't give a damn.
