IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

07.23.07

I once knew a woman who was crying before a meeting. She was approached by a five-year-old girl who told her, "You don't have to cry here. This is a good place. They took my daddy and they made him better." That is exactly what A.A. did for me; it took me and it made me better. For that I am eternally grateful. ~p. 431 Alcoholics Anonymous - Fourth Edition
Today I am grateful...
  • for the generosities of alcoholics and Alcoholics Anonymous
  • for potatoes. I haven't had potatoes in forever, trying to reduce the intake of carbohydrates. Last night Jim made mashed with sour cream, cheese and green onions. MMMMMMM!
  • that these days I answer the telephone--sometimes without even looking at caller ID
  • for carrying on with recovery. Not resting on laurels, not taking anything for granted.
  • for friends and family and loved ones and even the ones that grate on my nerves

I will grow. I will become something new and grand, but no grander than I now am. Just as the sky will be different in a few hours, its present perfection and completeness is not deficient, so am I presently perfect and not deficient because I will be different tomorrow. I will grow and I am not deficient. ~Wayne Dyer

I love your telephone gratitude, I still have not graduated from looking at the caller ID though.

I have never had caller ID. I tend to use the answering machine or let Steph answer it. No big deal really cause noone usually calls me on the landline.

Scottness, I enjoyment the blog. I am so much happiness now!

I have not had the opprotunity to peruse it more thoroughly, but I will. I am chairing Friday night and thought I would use the topic of "complacency". SO in searching for that..."resting on laurels", you were borned until my giddy life.

I find it funny how many things in the program are not really officially in the program but sort of unwritten rulz. Like the no dating for one year,...can't do that.

But I am going to one or more meetings a day and working my butt off this fourth time around.

See ya!
