IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Disillusionment and spiritual confusion mark our age. Many of us have cast aside old ideas without acquiring new ones. Many men and women are creeping through life on their hands and knees, merely because they refuse to rely on any power but themselves. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day
Today I am grateful...
  • that I was raised to be silly. I was reminded by today's DailyOm.
  • for the power of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous
  • for patience and persistence
  • to have received a Houston Roundup flier in the mail, meaning fall is approaching
  • that the panic attacks I had as a child are gone

The spiritual journey involves going beyond hope and fear, stepping into unknown territory, continually moving forward. The most important aspect of being on the spiritual path may be just to keep moving. ~Pema Chodron

Fall is a wonderful time of year but I surely don't look forward to winter. I too am grateful to have been raised to be silly.

well I don't have a single silly bone in my body !!!
I hate missing the round up every year....I always have a house full of non-program company to feed and entertain.
Hope your monday is going peachy!

I wish I could just pop over there for your round up. I am considering the Houston Marathon in January... just saw an ad for it this morning... I would love to see you all again.

Silly is great. It is one of my son's most endearing qualities.

my panic attacks have come and gone since getting sober. they were horrid while i was pregnant. i am thinking b/c of the fear i felt in being pregnant (and responsible for another's life, not just my own anymore.)

i envy your freedom from them.

Scott,
Thanks. I lived in Dallas for a long time and made repeated attempts to get sober. Somehow, it seems VT suites me better, and now two years clean and sober.

I wanted to thank you for your blog, because lately there have been some really hateful things posted in response to what I write. It makes me want to stop.
