IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

True freedom cannot exist without vigilant responsibility. Freedom does not release you from being accountable to life. Freedom enables you to give your own special value to the world in which you live. Living free means accepting and embracing full responsibility for your own life, and for the things that touch your life. It is responsibility that gives freedom its value and keeps freedom alive. ~Ralph Marston

Today I am grateful...
  • for the freedoms assured me as an American. Without a doubt I am grateful to be born into a society of privilege. And while the American flag has been drug through the mud around the world I am not unaware of the fact that we, as a nation, are a bully. We used to be a kinder and gentler nation. I pray we find our way back. And I also have to remind myself that in a country that claims liberty and justice for all, that I am considered to be a second class citizen because I am homosexual.
  • for freedom of speech
  • that my loving Higher Power guides me gently through rocky thoughts and feelings
  • that I am sober and a bit more sane than I used to be
  • that I vote to make my beliefs known

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less. --unknown

Very good post So. We have so much to be thankful for, it is sad that so many people take what we have for granted. As far as a second class citizen, well, you are the number one citizen in my book.

I love you,

So

Dear Scott,

thank you for all of your post.
The pictures are outstanding of a country in turmoil and without an oar.

Bully, yes, it seems to be so.

We seem to be a fearful Country. One who knows full well we are not what we once were. And we are scared to death. So scared, we are attacking first and asking questions later.

I am afraid of what our "leaders" have gotten us into.

Thank you for taking a stand and sharing it. love you Scott.

This was a great post Scott. I can't imagine you being considered a 2nd class ANYTHING. I loved the 5 simple rules...but it seems sometimes that NOTHING is simple to me anymore.
