IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

The biggest danger we face as recovering people is self-will. Do we try to control others? ~Keep It Simple
Today I am grateful...
  • for the miracles that happen under the roof of Lambda Center. Our birthday nights shine with recovery.
  • for WWDKD
  • to be shown by the example of others how to do the deal
  • that I related to everyone's shares, especially: the loneliness and isolation behind the locked deadbolt, the deep dark hole we had dug for ourselves, the wall of self-made and self-laid bricks
  • that telephones weigh a lot less than they did in the past
What worries you, masters you. ~Haddon W. Robinson
Recovery is not about behaving perfectly or according to anyone else's rules. More than anything else, recovery is about knowing we have choices and giving ourselves the freedom to choose. ~The Language of Letting Go

If only I could get lighter like the phone does! I love it when I can relate to other people, wherever we are...

You have a Lamda Center in Houston? Is it like some sort of network? Or just a great name for a gay Alano club.

We both included telephones in our gratitude lists. That's so funny! You're right. Aside from calling my sponsor, I find it hard to call people. I don't want to intrude on their lives, ya know? They have to listen to my crap at the meetings, why would they want me calling them at home and doing the same thing.

Peace out!
Kari

I feel guilty when the phone weighs a ton when I have to "answer" it. Sometimes I just don't want to hear it. I pray about that often.

Actually I miss the heft ofthe old rotary dial phones of the 1960's...

Something about the cell phone is still a bit too Dick Tracy for me...

But I'm grateful, you're grateful for lighter phones, Scott!
