I clasp my hands in prayer, and like a plug into a socket, I tap into the power of the Universe. ~Pocket Sponsor
Today I am grateful...
- for daily prayers for the suffering. Suffering takes many forms. Addiction, hopelessness, judgement, abuse (physical, emotional, spiritual), mental illness, war, loss of life, physical defect, distorted perception, misuse of will power. The list is long and varied and I have been in many of these places. Today I am grateful I am not suffering, but there are many who are.
- for my interesting day of jury duty yesterday. The pool had about 100 people. We all sat on pews with little pads on them, the most uncomfortable thing ever. The television was on CNN and the Alec Baldwin story played over and over and over. The NASA event was yet to take place. I sat reading Home with God; In a Life That Never Ends by Neale Donald Walsch (author of Conversations with God). It is about the end of this physical life and what happens afterwards. Reading it I felt this unbelievable sense of lightness of being. I was grateful to my Higher Power that I am on my destined path and am having experiences I would never have had being a practicing alcoholic. I was called for the first panel and was chosen after some questions, juror #5 (out of six). The case was a speeding ticket. We listened as the city attorney tried unsuccessfully to question the policeman that issued the ticket, to get yes or no answers out of him. The policeman would speak to me as he addressed the jury (in that he looked only at me). The defence was a bulldog and he knew what he was doing. The judge was exasperated. She send us to the deliberation room twice, the second time asking who wanted to be the foreman, sign the form stating the defendant as not guilty. Her name is Judge Timberlake and she had a front tooth missing. We went back to the pool room, were given a certificate of participation with our names in big letters across the top and it had a five dollar and a one dollar bill stapled to it. It was all very interesting and surreal.
- that today I meet with the Lambda Center CPA to do the first quarter stuff, then to create beauty at the Maxillofacial Clinic, lasagna dinner at Lambda tonight and possibly stay for the speaker meeting
The only thing you get from sitting on the pity pot is a ring around your butt and nobody to show it to! ~Anonymous
Open to a larger, more abundant source. That source is God. And God's supply is the universe. When we look to God and the universe, we open ourselves to a never-ending supply of what we need--love, energy, teaching, support, information, guidance, and nurturing. Certain people and places may help us along the way, but God is our source for love. ~Melody Beattie

I could never do or be anything if I'm still a drug addict. Alas, Scott W, I've yet to be called as a jury in a court of law. It sound interesting.
pleasant musings to read today..cool jury duty share too..
I've been wanting to pick up HOME WITH GOD for some time now. It's hard to get in extra reading during the semester. Can't wait to hear from you about the book
