IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Sure, it can scare us to just be ourselves. The truth is, not everyone will love us. But if we’re honest about who we are, others will respect us. We’ll like ourselves better. And we’ll have a better chance of loving others and being loved. ~Keep It Simple
Today I am grateful...
  • for all my loved ones, and there are many
  • for those who keep coming back. Our nature as drunks is to drink, staying sober goes against our nature. Living sober is miraculous.
  • that I made major headway through a commission piece
  • that today even my dreams are peaceful (night before last I was in Paris!)
  • that although there are many double standards in the world, I can strive to eliminate them from my thoughts
Embrace what you can change with positive, persistent effort. Embrace what you cannot change with peaceful, enlightened acceptance. Put your energy into pursuits that will bring value. Choose not to waste that energy fighting destructive battles that do nothing more than satisfy your ego. There is profound beauty both in what you can do and in what you cannot do. Learn to see the value in it all. ~Ralph Marston

I thank God for the drunks who keep coming back to meetings, and for the sober bloggers who blog every day... thanks!

I don't remember much, but I was my friend Maude, who has passed on. It was her favorite city.
