IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Sunday Eighteen

The chances are better than even that we shall locate our trouble in our misunderstanding or neglect of A.A.'s Step Eleven--prayer, meditation, and the guidance of God. The other Steps can keep most of us sober and somehow functioning. But Step Eleven can keep us growing, if we try hard and work at it continually. ~Grapevine, 1958
Today I am grateful...
  • for my first meeting with my new sponsor
  • for prayers and answers
  • that Pam and Laura joined us last night at Lambda where we heard a great qualification and had a great Mardi Gras Parade
  • that my sobriety is not about whining and complaining
  • that next Saturday night I have a date with a woman for dinner and a play
Whoever gossips to you will gossip about you. ~Spanish proverb
When we practice loving kindness towards others, we run out of willingness and generosity quickly if we think it all has to come from us. When we understand that love comes through us, there is an endless Source. ~Mary Manin Morrissey

Laura and I had a grand time last night. She went on and on about how much fun it was. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome and "a part of".....especially Laura.

No whining or complaining?

MC, well maybe a little here and there, but I was referring to sitting beside someone last night that constantly whines and complains. It just made me grateful I don't do that all the time.

A gift to be able to learn from others and have the desire to embrace our lives. I am experiencing this right now with my friend "M" that went out again. This time, I could really see her unwillingness and lack of desire to change.

O.K. I need to see her resume, a picture, and do a background check before you can go out with her. I'm jealous....
