An alcoholic who stops drinking, is like the guy who jumps into the water only to find that he can't swim. And AA isn't the water you jump into when your pants are on fire, AA is a bunch of idiots in a life boat with charred britches who come along and give swimming lessons. - Doug D. (from Alkiespeak)
Today I am grateful...
- for prayers for my sister's friend Mary who was involved in a life threatening accident last night
- for redirected thoughts that land on my Higher Power
- for what is available when my heart and my mind are in unison
- for yesterday's "But for the grace of God go I" meeting
- for the comfort of cotton
- that for true balance today we give away what we have been given
The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination. ~Tommy Lasorda

Those freaking quotes are just too much!! That's the greatest and SO acurate at describing AA!! : ) Love it!! Have a great Friday! Watch out for all the cowboys!
I hope Mary is ok.
I just heard. Unfortunately she didn't make it. Your prayers would be appreciated.
I'm sorry, Scott W - about Mary.
Prayers for Mary heading her way.
I love that quote by Doug D.

I have offered up a prayer for Mary and your sister...
Like everyone else........sending good thoughts to you and your sister.....life takes such unexpected turns sometimes doesn't it?
Your sis, is lucky to have a caring, loving ...SOBER brother right now to lean on. That's a little miracle from God for you.....letting you be there...where you are needed.
I like the new look!
And the beetle, too!
((prayers))
((peace))
lol too funny, I got some seriously charred britches here!
prayers for Mary
I am sorry to hear about Mary. She and your sister will be in my prayers.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I will miss my friend more than I can put into words. Oddly enough I found an email she recently sent to my daughter (Mary had sold a horse that Steph, my daughter, loved very much) and Steph was a bit upset about the horse being sold and the last words on her email were "PART OF LIFE IS SAYING GOODBYE TO YOUR FRIEND WHEN IT IS TIME FOR THEM TO MOVE ON." I know that is what she would want me to do, and in time I will, but there will be many tears getting to that point.
Thank you all again,
Lisa (So)
