IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Wondering why I was an alcoholic was like being a man standing on a bridge, looking down at a gently flowing stream beneath. But my pants are on fire. And I'm saying: "I wonder how these pants got on fire, was it hereditary or environmental?" Who cares. You jump in the water. ~Doug D. (from Alkiespeak)
Today I am grateful...
  • for they gayest spam I ever received on this blog. See yesterday's comments.
  • for the One that watches my thoughts
  • that I have at my disposal, today, a program so powerful it can temporarily HALT a drunk's disease
  • that daily I am shown, from inside, my Higher Power's will. That I am given the power and the willingness to carry it out.
  • that I can usually sit still
We can set our lives on "automatic pilot" by choosing continuing recovery as our major goal and letting all things fall in line with that. The turbulence of ordinary living cannot deflect us from our true course if we calmly accept it as natural, unavoidable, and non-threatening. Even if a real storm blows up and gives us anxious moments, we can stay on the recovery course we have chosen. ~Walk in Dry Places

Interesting quote. And I love the new graphics, BTW. I guess I've been away awhile.

Peace,

P.S. My blog has moved to http://dharmashanti.blogspot.com

Scott--the quote from Doug D. is perfect. Before I came to the program, I spent decades with "professionals" trying to analyze the WHY of my addiction -- naturally I did the same thing. When I got here I vould finally stop all of that why stuff. WHY? because I am an addict! that's why!
And then I jumped in the water...
Thanks so much for your sharing. Again, I also love the new look.
Peace,
Scout
P.S. Are you going to move The Art of Scott Woodard blog to new blogger? I generally link to it but have been waiting to see if you move it or change its address...just wondering.

you can find THE SECRET at borders. we usually have it, though we do run out of it every once and a while. we have it back in stock in a day or two when that does happen. tell him to come on down. alabama and kirby. south east corner.

p.s. i remember when i used to terrorize myself with WHY? that used to suck.

First of all I LOVE your new banner. It is really refreshing. And second, what a comment. Did you check it out? :)

Oh, when I clicked on the banner it took me to the link in your Flickr account. The last banner you had the url set to the home page of your blog. Not sure if you wanted this. If you did, disregard me. :)
