I looked for God all over. And that's where I found him; All over. ~Phil P.
Today I am grateful...
- that I can find some gratitude in having a dental appointment this morning
- that I can admit that although my dad was a dentist I have some real fear sitting in that chair
- that Randall gets his kidney stone removed today, I am going there after the dentist
- that the truth shines the brightest
- for joyous expressions of the love for God
The great mystery is: "Why do some of us die alcoholic deaths, fighting to preserve the 'independence' of our ego, while others seem to sober up effortlessly in A.A.?" Help from a Higher Power, the gift of sobriety, came to me when an otherwise unexplained desire to stop drinking coincided with my willingness to accept the suggestions of the men and women of A.A. I had to surrender, for only by reaching out to God and my fellows could I be rescued. ~Daily Reflections

Today I am grateful that there are so many of us in recovery out there in 'Blogland'!
Thank you for the beautiful post...what a great way to start the day!
As always, great post.
Enjoy your weekend.
"for joyous expressions of the love for God" OH YES!!! Those the the bestest
"I looked for G-d all over and that's where I found him -- all over."
How fabulous is that, Scott? Did you hear that in a meeting?
I liked the ending quote, too.
And this was the best -- "for the joyous expressions of the love for G-d"
Thanks for helping me stay clean today,
Scout

beautiful post. I often ask myself why so many people around me have died from this disease, but I am alive and sober.
its a hard truth to faith, but I would rather faith the truth than die in denial.
I almost quoted the Daily Reflections for today... it was really beautiful. Thanks Scott.
