IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Our freedom lies in recognizing the threefold illusion of this disease--mind (I can handle it), desire (it feels good), and flesh (I need it). These are all illusions from which we soon will be liberated. ~Hour To Hour - The First 30 Days, by Shelly Marshall
Today I am grateful...
  • that when I entered rehab those two times it wasn't broadcast on the Today Show
  • that I have been given enough faith and the ability to hold onto it, until it grew into a trust that allows me to live with much reduced fear
  • that I love the program of Alcoholics Anonymous
  • for the freedoms AA and recovery give me
  • for "the power to carry that out"
The value of persistent prayer is not that He will hear us, but we will finally hear Him. ~William McGill
Through morning prayers and meditation, we embark upon the day spiritually prepared. Without this preparation, we enter the day with yesterday's anxieties - our own and those of millions of others. ~Marianne Williamson

I just discovered your blog today. I am not familiar with Pocket Sponsor. Is this a book?

funny thing about "the power to carry it out"...sometimes I need one more line in that prayer "and the willingness"

I so understand the not living in so much fear anymore. Maybe that's the "intuitivly knowing how to handle situations that used to baffle us" promise. I think just learning to listen to our "gut" eases a lot of our fears in sobriety. I'm so glad you are out their in my hometown.

I have a dear friend who held a press conference when he went into rehab. I really think that is a bad way to start.

I have been in codependency recovery for over 11 years and very few people in my life know about it.I do it alone(by choice).
I cannot imagine how it must feel to go into a Rehab Centre only to have it broadcasts and not have a choice who knows your personal buisiness.Ugh.

Ya know why I love about people I know in AA/NA ? They appreciate thier lives and have a special way of sharing it with the world.I wish more people could adopt that unique outlook on life and wellness :)
Thanks for sharing:)

Referring to LL and the press or the little guy. So sad that it is announced everywhere.

And what a beautiful thing it is to crush those threefold illusions.
