IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Wet the bed and blame the blanket—that is the life we led. With the Twelve Steps, we learn that problems are basically of our own making. At the end of BLAME is ME. ~Pocket Sponsor

Today I am grateful...
  • that I used to run FROM, now I run TOWARDS
  • that the literature teaches me that my main problem is my thinking
  • that today I have a routine that works, and when it gets a bit off track I have to acknowledge I am a creature of habit and have to get back to what has worked
  • that Grace has returned to blogging
  • for the information that has reached me that shows me a glimpse of the nature of my relationship to the divine
  • that I lead the noon meeting today and my Higher Power has agreed to let me just be the vehicle so IT can shine through

We have these two forces; this insatiable thirst, compulsion, hunger, yearning, call it what you will. We don't know what we're looking for but we're searching. And the other force; the escape. We're running, not knowing what from. - Eddie E.

I never wet the bed. I did have a rather disturbing habit of using wardrobes as toilets - kinda half-pissed/sleep walking. Used to cost a fortune i dry cleaning and laundry bills.

The whole running towards thing is a new one for me too. It is a nice but strange feeling.

LMAO@Kenny. Um, yeah. I did that, too (and BTW, this is the first time I've admitted it to ANYONE except my hubby), but only when I was in a strange or new place (the last time was the very last time I got really drunk, right after we'd moved to South Florida).

Scott, I really appreciated your comment on Sober Chick's blog on Tuesday. You have such wisdom, but more importantly, you have true compassion. Thank you for sharing your experience, strength and hope, my friend.

The irony of that comment is I used to have an alcoholic boyfriend that pretty much literally wet the bed and blamed the blanket.

How pathetic my life used to be!
