How poor are they who have not patience! What wound did ever heal but by degrees? ~William Shakespeare
Today I am grateful...
- for faith: Fear Ain't In This House
- that yesterday Daave and I went to Intergroup Bookstore. There was a woman ordering sobriety chips and I asked her what club she was from. It was the LaBranch club, which we think is the oldest AA club in Houston (both mine and Daave's memories are shot). She, in turn, asked where we was from and I replied Lambda. Her face lit up and said her sponsor said that Lambda was a great place and that she had sponsees that had gone to meetings there. I told her we had some great recovery there and she should come see us. She said she would come for birthday night one last Saturday of the month. This was the interaction between two strangers, yet we knew each other almost intimately. We were able to share a smile and a couple of laughs. In my dark past I would have had my face turned to face the floor and would have never seen the light in her face.
- for the seemingly real and inspirational dream I had this morning
- that I WILL survive the hunger until after I have blood drawn at approximately 10:10 AM
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. ~Winston Churchill
Remember that all fear is disloyalty to God. It is a denial of His care and protection. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Alex, I'll take Churchill for $1000.
I always have an interesting experience at Intergroup. Maybe I'll run into there one day.
Great quote from Will S'.
That's one of the things I like about AA: you can immediately have a rapport with another member anywhere in the world. Marvellous.
Nice post. Thanks for helping me stay sober for another day.
I call those chance meetings God Shots
