IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

It is not theological arguments that solve the problems of the questing soul, but the sincere cry of that soul to God for strength and the certainty of that soul that the cry will be heard and answered. ~12 & 12

Today I am grateful...
  • for another weekend without even considering a drink. I rarely ever think about drinking, usually the only time I do is in the rooms of AA.
  • that so far in sobriety and in life everything has worked itself out
  • that this morning my breathing seems to be easier
  • that I get to take the bus for free downtown tomorrow to report for jury duty
  • that when I am off course I can pray through each of the twelve steps

This is what I believe:
That I am I.
That my soul is a dark forest.
That my known self will never be more than a little clearing in the forest.
That gods, strange gods, come forth from the forest into the clearing of my known self, and then go back.
That I must have the courage to let them come and go.
That I will never let mankind put anything over me, but that I will try always to recognize and submit to the gods in me and the gods in other men and women.
There is my creed.
~D. H. Lawrence

Oh boy...you have jury duty? I've somehow managed to get out of that for 34 years. By saying that, I'll go to the mailbox and have a summons.
