IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

In God's economy, nothing is wasted. through failure, we learn alesson in humility which is probably needed, painful though it is. ~Bill W
Today I am grateful...
  • that I survived the treadmill stress test and it showed no blockage
  • that yesterday I got to see Oprah's High School Challenge. It was basically a show about bullying. Sixty-five students participated in an experiment that let their guards down, allowed them to be vulnerable and discover that they were just like everyone else. There was a segment when they were told to cross the line to the other side of the room if they had ever been made to feel they were unworthy...there was no one left standing on the original side of the room. It was amazing that these kids learned to love each other and show it. How many of us, as alcoholics, have suffered at the hands or words of another? How many of us have hurled epithets at others because it made us feel better about ourselves? How many of us have been healed in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous? I was truly moved and wish for everyone that has been bullyed, like I was, to be healed. This is how to change the world.
  • that I have today, in all its glory, and I am sober

We did not always come closer to wisdom by reason of our virtues; our better understanding is often rooted in the pains of our former follies. Because this has been the essence of our individual experience, it is also the essence of our experience as a fellowship. ~As Bill Sees It

Scott, you and Daave have just made me laugh - giggle really. I would love to meet you two.

I quoted that Bill thing last night in a meeting. I love that. And I love what you wrote about being healed in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous.

I watched that too. I thought it was cool how willing they were once they realized they didnt need to be "tough" or "cool" and they could just be.
