IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Egotism enables a man in a rut to think he's in a groove. ~Anon.

Today I am grateful...

  • for the breathing treatment, antibiotics and inhaler for my bronchitis. Ugh. Last night's coughing was enough to wake the dead, then I fell back asleep.
  • that today I get to exercise my rights by voting
  • that today I do not have to wait for the polls to close to buy alcohol
  • for "Ask a Gay Man", who is from my home town of Paducah, KY. His treatise on denim is hysterical.
  • that through my own personal program of recovery I receive serenity on a daily basis, and that makes me a rich man

We don't see things as they are. We see things as we are. ~Talmudic Saying. I need to put things in perspective because I have a disease of perception.

People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote - a very different thing. ~Walter H. Judd

Now that you've voted, maybe you can breathe a little easier.

Right on my friend. It was truly humbling to be part of the process today.
