Today I am grateful...
- for a life story of survival heard last night
- that my struggles are my own
- that my struggles have been minimized by prayer and meditation
- that today the world looks differently than it did three years ago
- that although today I can have intimacy with only a few, I can have relationships with many
- that maybe one day I will truly live the concept that what others think about me is none of my business
...because you have been taught of Yesterday's God, who needs so much, and, worse yet, does not have the ability to meet His needs by Himself, and so must make demands on you. And you have been taught that if you do not meet these demands, God will judge you, condemn you, and punish you.
And this brings us to the Ninth Important Difference between Yesterday's God and Tomorrow's God.
9. Tomorrow's God is unconditionally loving, nonjudgemental, noncondeming and non-punishing.
~today's meditations are God's words from Tomorrow's God, by Neal Donald Walsch (author of Conversations with God)

I remember calling my first sponsorone day, weeks into recovery all upset about something I heard that someone had said about me. Man, I was pissed, and justifiably so. Well, he laid that line on me, that other people's opinions of me were none of my business.. I was shocked.. I had never heard such radical thinking before... But, when I remember that, I can sure live a much more peaceful life. Thanks for reminding me of that, Scott
What others think about me is none of my business...
I'm trying so hard to get that one.
Thanks for a great post, and thanks for being in my life.
hey my friend, thanks for posting my topic on Sobriety Society...
A good list, indeed.
I am greatful for your friendship, and 15 years of sobriety today, Scott!
I borrowed from your title, An Attitude of Gratitude, for my post today.

Did you see the film version of Conversations with God, yet?
Todd, Yes, we saw it pre-release. It is a good film, but not great. It was nice to see how the book evolved and it was quite moving. Afterwards Mr Walsch and the producer, Mr Simon spoke.
