IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

10.15.06

As newcomers, many of us have indulged in spiritual intoxication. Like a gaunt prospector, belt drawn in over the last ounce of food, we saw our pick strike gold. Joy at our release from a lifetime of frustration knew no bounds.

Today I am grateful...
  • that I got to bring Randall home Friday evening and that he is resting comfortably. Thank you for all your prayers and healing thoughts.
  • that I was led through the darkness
  • for late night art sessions
  • for dinner with the guys
  • that Matt is so mischievous
  • for dreams about romance
  • that Dave is now a non-smoker albeit without some of his brain functions

The newcomer feels he has struck something better than gold. He may not see at once that he has barely scratched the limitless lode which will pay dividends only if he mines it for the rest of his life and insists on giving away the entire product.

Today's quotes from Alcoholics Anonymous, pp 128-129

Totally awesome that Randall is resting comfortably. No longer do we linger in darkness by situations that use to baffle us.
