IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Imagine

What God intended for you goes far beyond anything you can imagine. ~Oprah Winfrey

Today I am grateful...
  • that along with the gift of sobriety I was given a life more than I would have ever imagined
  • that Sonny will be at Lambda today to celebrate his 24th AA birthday
  • for the miracles in my life and in yours
  • that in 1968 I was too young to run away to Haight Ashbury and become a hippy
  • that yesterday one of my children (a painting) left here for its new home
  • for the chance to have an extended chat with the gentleman from Louisiana

Imagine having enough money to last for a thousand lifetimes. Imagine you have already bought everything you could ever think to buy. Imagine that you have no need to prove anything or to impress anyone. Imagine all your goals have been reached and exceeded. Imagine you have broken free of every limitation, and that whatever you choose to accomplish, you're able to accomplish. In such a situation, what exactly would you choose to accomplish? Imagine you could wake up each morning and spend the day doing the things that are the most meaningful and fulfilling to you. If that were the case, exactly what would you spend the day doing?

The fact is, you do have those choices even now. You can decide this very day to follow the path that holds the greatest meaning for you, no matter what your situation may be. ~Ralph Marston

dang, that's quite an imagination... I've never really looked at things like that before... That really has me thinking... Thanks Scott for sharing that! That must be the perfection we're supposed to be striving toward, while accepting our progress!

peace to you my friend!

Sounds like your visit went OK. WEll, obviously, it did; you're still able to type.

I imagine that I like the quote.

Ditto to all of the above. You know what happens when I think Scott...it hurts. I love your children! And Bunny! And of course YOU!
I see you,

That's a lot to imagine - and a BIG challenge on a different way to live. I like that perspective. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

its funny sometimes I think we all forget we do have a choice in things... and feel like we have to.. or whatever... choices and having choice are tricky sometimes... but I love to imagine that

I hear John Lennon.

Good questions to ask oneself.

My previous sponsor had me do a similar exercise before a 4th step. I had writing on my list twice which she had to point out to me. It was before I started my blog.

I love exercising my brain like this, it's a good thing.

I shall try the 'imagine' exercise. Interesting stuff.

24 years sober? Wow-factor x 100!

1968? I wanted to join a commune but my mum wouldn't let me out of my cot...
