IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

If a newcomer calls at 2 am, I say: "Your answer is on page 63 of the Big Book." -- I don't know what's on page 63, but this guy will start reading and if his answer is not there, he'll think; "Well, he must have given me the wrong page" and keep reading until he finds his answer. ~Serenity Sam.
Today I am grateful...
  • that I got a call from Sonny last night. He is to be released from the hospital where he underwent triple by-pass surgery over six weeks ago. He calls every day to check the status of how Lambda Center is running. The man has literally run that center for years and we are all grateful for his service and his spirit.
  • that such small things can bring joy. A visit to a new restaurant (for me, Mockingbird Bistro) and the way my NY strip was prepared, tasting sweetbreads for the first time. Observing another get what they need and seeing tears in their eyes. A gem discovered in the literature of AA. Those little things that just fill up my soul, those little things I used to miss in the haze of alcohol.
  • that AA kept running despite the absence of dAAve for three days
  • for the trust I have developed from a practice of turning it over and letting it go. No matter what IT is.
  • that my Higher Power has no interest in kicking your Higher Power's ass
The temptation to direct the paths of others is a creature of many origins. Overactive egos can convince us that ours is the one true path or awaken a craving for control within us. But each person is entitled to seek out their path leading from the darkness into the light. When we celebrate those paths and encourage the people navigating them, we not only enjoy the privilege of watching others grow-we also reinforce our dedication to diversity, independence and individuality. ~Today's DailyOm

I think you meant Lambda Center. And as long as there are people like you, it shall forever keep running.

What about the woman who called her dyslexic sponsor - distraught about her boyfriend dumping her, the sponsor told her to read page 96 - instead of 69. (it really is funny)
