IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

When we find ourselves getting upset over something, we must realize that it's a luxury we alcoholics can't afford. Anything that makes us forget our number-one problem is dangerous to us. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Today I am grateful...
  • that I will stand in to lead today's noon meeting
  • that I got a call from the gentleman who is buying a painting
  • for today's goal: to live in grace
  • to be able to wake up to face my day without fear
  • that the visit to the vet yesterday for Bunny's allergies didn't break the bank, but dang it was expensive

It's called the Serenity Prayer, not the Courage Prayer, not the Wisdom Prayer. That is because, no matter what we're doing, before we receive courage or wisdom, serenity needs to come first. ~Today's Gift

I really like both of these quotes you've shared, but the first one REALLY resonates with what someone shared at the meeting I attended last night. She said, during an incident where someone (a stranger at the grocery store, no less) upset her with a rude comment, and she kept mulling over what she should have retorted with, she realized she was allowing this person to "live rent-free" in her head. When she realized that, she was able to stop immediately, and to stop being upset about something she couldn't change and which really didn't matter all that much. That really struck home with me, as does this quote from Twenty Four Hours. Thanks for sharing it, Scott.
