IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Life's most difficult moments teach us that we're stronger than we know. It always pays to remember that.
When the worst happens, is when we have the opportunity to be our best. When the challenges seem unbearable and hope is a distant memory, a new and stronger hope is already taking root.

Though events can terribly injure us and pull us a long way down, nothing can rob us of the ability and desire to connect with life's goodness. And so that goodness always, in its own way, prevails, despite the unimaginable odds against it. For that goodness lives in our hearts, where we can always keep it alive. And because we know how it feels so completely right, that is what we do. In the everyday moments, goodness lives. In the most joyful times and during the darkest days, it becomes more deeply entrenched and more personally meaningful.
We pause to remember all that has gone before, and look ahead to the many possibilities that are now springing to life. Through it all, underneath it all, we carry an abiding goodness that we cannot be without. ~Ralph Marston
Today I am grateful...
  • for a God of my understanding
  • for service work that keeps me sober
  • that these days the obsession only appears as the occasional, very small whisper
  • that I can dash it with my spiritual sword
  • for an Earth friends that knows all my story
  • for prime rib, scalloped potatoes and steamed broccoli
