Sunday's gratitude

God must act and pour himself into you the moment he finds you ready. ~Meister Eckhart

Today I am grateful...
  • for the early morning IM chat with JJ and dAAve
  • for the call yesterday from someone that cannot stay sober. A business trip and another drunken episode.
  • for Boston's call. I am her fill in sponsor while Dennis R is on vacation.
  • for the pre-nap phone chat with my sister So
  • for my new chosen seat in the big room, dAAve to my left and Matt to my right and straight ahead is the lectern (often mistakenly called a podium)
  • for the nearly 500 years of sobriety celebrated last night by 39 celebrants. We had a standing room only crowd.
  • that Angela made it from the airport in time to celebrate her 18 years
  • that today I choose life

The one you are looking for is the one who is looking. ~Francis of Assisi

Active addiction is a smoldering death-wish. Each of us courted death every time we used. Our lifestyles, too, put us at risk. The life of an addict is sold cheaply with every day and every dose. ~NA Just for Today

You've got lots to be grateful for Scott, so many good friends, surrounded by so much recovery. I bet that meeting was just magical last nite. How do you keep a straight (ok, poor choice of words here) face sitting between dAAve and Matt? Ok, maybe the point is not to keep a straight face!

Love your new pic~

I do not have any NA lit and love that reading. "smoldering death~wish" is a very accurate and vivid description of addiction.

Thanks~

That's a good list. 500 years is impressive.

It's called a lectern? I never knew that!
