Stay committed to your growth process until you wake up one morning and ask yourself, What is that strange thing I am feeling? Then know what the answer is. The answer is joy. ~Melody Beattie

Today I am grateful...
  • that I have stuck to a commitment for 1008 days
  • for the spirit of those new in recovery
  • that Matt picked up his 5 month chip
  • that the Rothko Chapel serves its purpose
  • for a relaxed weekend and time for my knee to heal a bit
  • for more anxiety-less days than I ever thought possible
  • that although Dennis and I played phone tag all day, and never got to speak, we stayed in touch nevertheless
  • for the anonymous person that bought a raffle ticket Saturday night and put my name on it. Thank you. I won the $125 split-the-pot at the Talent Show.

Spirit is at work through me, I am led to do the right and loving thing. ~Shelley

Scott,

There's a very grateful person out there who bought that ticket. I love buying tickets for others when I can. It's how I met my sponsor -- years ago she came to sit with her sponsees and me (I was hanging out with one of them) and handed each of them a ticket. I never forgot that small act it made me pay attention to her. Now she's my sponsor and I am so grateful. Thanks for sharing that. I assume the coffe's on you?

what a lovely gesture... more people should practice the "random acts of kindness" thing... i always pay for the car behind me at toll booths...
