Today I am grateful...
- for my long term relationship with my ex. Last night we had dinner at India's, where we used to eat often twenty years ago. Driving home, he being a native Houstonian, remarked he had never seen deep, dark River Oaks (the toniest part of town), so we turned off the beaten path and drove around some incredibly beautiful streets, with enormous, expensive homes. We decided we would never want to trade our lives with any of the people that had the money to live in these caves of luxury. I would never want to be slave to money, prestige or power.
- for the Las Vegas liberal blogger convention this weekend
- that June, my birth month, is also Gay Pride month. Westheimer, the main street that runs through Montrose here, flies the Rainbow flag during the month.

Look past the body, past the personality, past the behavior, into the window of one another's souls. There we make a connection. The God in me recognizes and honors the God in you. ~Mary Manin Morrissey

From India to River Oaks to Westheimer to Montrose. You are sooooo well-travelled.
Your attitude of gratitude will bring you great blessings.
And yesterday the city I live in raised the Gay Pride Flag with lots of celebration and fun.
I see you,
JJ
When my Mom first came out, like 15+ years ago she invited me to go to the Long Beach gay pride celebration with her. That is one of my fondest memories, to see her so happy in an environment created by the gay & lesbian community to welcome gay & lesbian people, and thensome! That day she was home, and I am grateful that GAY PRIDE exist and is growing.
Thanks for being here and bearing no shame of who you are today.
