We recovered alcoholics are not so much brothers in virtue as we are brothers in our defects, and in our common strivings to overcome them. ~Bill Wilson, letter 1946
Today I am grateful...
- for the brilliant mind of Bill W and that he allowed a Higher Power to speak through him
- to have walked through the Muir Woods
- for much lower humidity this morning, it was actually nice outside at 6AM
- for Matt's topic on Sobriety Society
- to spend as much time thinking about recovery as I spent thinking about alcohol
- that AA has worked for me, there was a time that I thought that would never happen
Learn a lesson from the redwoods. Let them teach the power of patience and calm. Life goes on. Things happen. People change. Times move along. There are stories to live and stories to tell, but we can be calm and know that, always, all is well. ~Melody Beattie

For whatever reason, I am always closest to HP when I am off alone in nature... especially in the woods... Muir woods looks beautiful!
Thanks for the nifty post!
Thanks for reminding me about the Sober Society.
See you soon,
JJ
I just had a conversation about being as passionate about recovery as I was passionate about getting drunk every day.
The lesson I got from the Redwoods is not to count one's rings until one grows up.
HUH?

I was blessed this past weekend. I was able to visit Bill W's homestead. I was overcome with emotion and the deepest sense of love I have ever felt. Without him, there would be no one else. No family, friends, no self to love. What an amazing gift we have been given
Peace..............
Beautiful photo, and great piece by Melanie Beatty....
