IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

A lot of alcoholics say: "Well there's us, and then there's normal people." Read my lips: There are no normal people. There are just people who haven't shared with you yet. ~Ken D

Today I am grateful...
  • that today I can not only see small wonders, but appreciate them as well
  • at the miracles that follow the planting of a small seed
  • that last night, as I was preparing for sleep, to remember in great detail the pain of not being able to get enough alcohol in me to pass out. It made me a bit sad, but entirely grateful.
  • to have a place where I can be silent and safe
  • that if I stay in the middle of the fellowship and the program I am pretty much guaranteed happiness
  • that it's Sober Chick's first AA birthday. YEAH!!!

"Oh, 'tis love, 'tis love, that makes the world go round! Somebody said," Alice whispered, "that it's done by everybody minding their own business. Ah well! It means much the same thing." ~Lewis Carroll

LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE the quote from Ken D. : ) Everybody seems 'normal' until they open their mouth! or 'normal' is just a setting on a washing machine.......

I always seemed to put enough Budweiser and various types of Rum into my system to be able to pass out; sometimes I even got home first.

I once lived about 4 blocks from the home of Lewis Carroll. But he was dead. Still is.

Those small wonders are soooo magnificent! Although minute, they help ignite our the light in our souls.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I would not want to be anywhere else today. I am so blessed to be part of this recovery community and learn from your spiritual guidance.

I have to agree with you about Normies, but when it comes to alcohol, there is no norm.

Oh, and dAAve is right about the rum and Lewis Carroll.
