... the value of accomplishment is in the accomplishing. The reward is not so much in what you obtain as in the person you become in the process of obtaining it. ~Ralph Marston

Today I am grateful...
  • that my 'monkey mind' is a lot quieter than it used to be. For some good meditation tips (yes, you too can actually meditate), see today's DailyOm.
  • that dreams can replace nightmares
  • that the biggest reaction to my ninth step was "The only regret about leaving Houston was the way we left our relationship." We said we would stay in touch, I tried, he didn't respond further and I had to chalk that up to a friendship that had run its course. At least for the time being.
  • that I do not believe all I hear. I do trust the suggestions I hear in the rooms. Other than that I have to weigh what I hear or am told against what I feel to be true.
  • for a call from my spiritual sister Boston

Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see a bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.--Dale Carnegie

Hi Scott,

Your gratitude list and postings are always so spiritually lifting. I have never heard of the "monkey mind" but have heard of the monkey on the back. That quote about the animals is great. I still feel that one of my cats has alcoholic-like behaviors -- I love her so.

I read your comment on my blog this morning. Thank you for pointing this out. I posted a comment in regard to it.

Because I am a recovering alcoholic I obsess (go figure) and find the need to seek the answer to this dilemma. I think there was a clash with my source code (audio files) and your web browser causing a securty flag (Active X). I have updated a few things in hopes that it is resolved. If not let me know so I can continue on my journey! LOL

This is good -- this knowledge is advantageous to my career although frustrating at times to trouble shoot. Growth in many ways is never easy whether spiritually or educationally.

Thanks so much again -- was gonna email you this but don't have one 4 you -- hence the novel I leave here today. Have a wonderful day!

Smiles,
SC
