To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection. -Jules Henri Poincsre

Today I am grateful...
  • that it is a gray Monday morning, rain eminent and I don't have to go anywhere
  • for the sounds of thunder
  • for the sounds of silence. Bunny is asleep in his crate.
  • that today I get to celebrate two friend's birthdays
  • for rib roast, Yorkshire pudding and peas with mushrooms
  • to be surrounded by friends whenever I need it

Well, today is the fifth day Bunny and I have been together and I must say it is going really well. He, at seven weeks, is smart as a whip, knows where the food is kept and starts dancing and whining when I get it out. He has also discovered some old Lucy food that was thrown against the fence and has taken to charging to that area when outside (it's dry food and not spoiled), so until it's gone I can't fight him on that.

I am a little on overload with all the information on puppy raising on the internet. So much to learn for me and him. One thing I missed out with Chester is the human/pup bonding time (at 7-12 weeks old) since I got him at 3 months. He never had the chance that this one has. And I want to raise this one with the potential of being a well behaved adult dog with great social skills (I guess we are both learning that one). I am trying to avoid the frenzy he gets into when he gets too excited by giving him time-outs. He is smart but has the distractions of puppydom.

He has slept in the bed with me since the first night and that goes well...for him. I haven't gotten the sleep I need and it has made me irritable a bit. Ultimately that's a small price to pay for a trusted companion. I have to turn it over and be grateful for patience. But it's a joy to have him here and at the same time cherish the memories of Chester.

That's the scoop (or the poop) for now.

Is that a picture of him pooping?
Are you going to show us a picture of YOU pooping? Not really necessary, unless you want to compare the adult/puppy thing.

Oh man, your pup is sooo handsome! A Boston Terrier, correct? I have some photos on our little Cosmo, a Parson Russell on my blog if you care to see... She has brought so much love and joy to our home (especially once she got past all those lovely little phases that come with puppy raising!). We wouldn't trade her for the world!

And here, I thought I was the only one who enjoyed a nice grey veiled rainy thundery day.... A great way to spend a Monday!

Not so much about dogs as juggling, cool tunes, and in my opinion, the last nine words.
